Stacy Chapin
Mother of Ethan Chapin

Stacy Chapin is a dedicated mother, educator, business owner, and victim advocate whose life has been shaped by her deep commitment to her children, various education-based initiatives, and community-driven events. She is the proud mother to Ethan, Maizie, and Hunter – triplets born in 2002.

In 2022, while Ethan attended the University of Idaho with his siblings, his life was tragically cut short in a case that captured national media attention. Stacy channeled her love and grief by creating the Ethan’s Smile Foundation, a nonprofit honoring Ethan’s passion for life, people, and new adventures by providing scholarships that enable others to follow their dreams. The foundation inspires hope and supports initiatives that reflect the joy, kindness, and light that Ethan brought into the world. Stacy, her husband Jim, and her children all serve as board members.

A published author, Stacy wrote the book, ‘The Boy Who Wore Blue’, inspired by Ethan’s life and character. The book reflects the essence of his early years as a triplet who always wore blue, and the colorful story and illustrations are inspired by her family’s memories and real-life pictures.

A former teacher and principal, Stacy works alongside Jim, overseeing their mining and timber industry-based conveyor belt business. In the past, this role empowered her to work from home and raise the triplets.

Stacy earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from the University of Puget Sound, a Master of Education from Western Washington University, and administrative credentials from Gonzaga. In April 2023, Stacy and Jim were awarded honorary degrees from the University of Idaho for their humanitarian efforts. In addition, Stacy was awarded the Carolyn Helman Lichtenberg Crest Award through Pi Beta Phi for her outstanding community service achievement.

Stacy resides in La Conner, WA, with her family and their pets. Together, they spend summers in Priest Lake, ID.
